This is the “make it or break it” rule for anyone who ever applied for a job: first impressions are very important.
A candidate who makes a good first impression will most likely set the right tone not only for the interview itself, but also for each and every encounter that comes along the line.
Unlike interviews for conventional jobs, talking to a potential online employer for the first time won’t require you to dress appropriately or shave. However, you should ‘be there’ on time and make sure you paint a picture that hints on everything that comes next on this list.
