7 Easy Steps to Get Started Selling on Ebay Today

Step #5: Answer questions about your item

As with all forms of e-commerce, you’ll find that a few of your potential buyers have questions regarding the item that you’re selling.

Ebay does have a system that automatically creates a question and answer section.

For example, you list an item as available in the color blue.

Ebay’s system will generate a question and answer that reads like the one below.

Q: What colors is this item available in?
A: The seller has listed this item as blue.

Even with the Ebay system, you may still receive a few questions from various buyers about your item that aren’t covered by Ebay’s automatic question and answer system.

When this happens, answer user’s questions quickly and politely. If you haven’t already, include shipping and processing information about your item in the product details section. Try to think like a buyer during this section of the process.

The more information you have about your product, the higher your chances are of selling it. When it comes to details, be honest about what you’re trying to sell. Sellers that don’t have enough information or don’t answer questions about their product are more likely to be suspected of scamming buyers. You don’t want that to happen to you.
